Cold email agency pricing in 2026: the monthly cost.

A cold email agency costs $1,500 to $10,000 or more a month on a retainer, $100 to $500 per meeting on pay-per-meeting, or a smaller retainer plus a bonus on a hybrid. The number that matters on a small budget is the fixed cost: what you pay in a month with no meetings. For Outboundwell that is $249, and a month with 4 held meetings costs $1,249 in total.

Read it honestly: at 10 meetings a month, a flat fee starting at $2,400 costs less than our $2,749. Pay-per-meeting is cheapest when meetings are uncertain, which is most of the first quarter for most companies. Our first month is invoiced with setup at signing ($999 in total), with a three-month initial term.

Which model is most budget-friendly?

It depends on whether outbound already works for your offer. If it does not yet, the biggest cost is a month with no meetings, so the lowest fixed monthly cost wins. That is pay-per-meeting with no retainer. If it does, and you need volume, a flat monthly fee can be cheaper per meeting. The full trade-off is in pay-per-meeting vs retainer, and you can put any agency's quote into the cost calculator.

The hidden costs to ask about

Booked or held. Most pay-per-meeting prices are per booked meeting. At a 60% show rate, a $500 booked meeting costs about $833 per meeting that happens; the math is in held vs booked meetings.

Infrastructure. Domains, inboxes and warm-up are sometimes bundled and sometimes billed on top, and pricing guides put that line at $500 to $2,000 a month when it is billed separately. Ask who owns the domains when you leave.

Minimums and setup. A low monthly price with a six-month minimum is a larger commitment than a higher price month to month. The six questions that expose all of this are in how to vet an outbound agency.

Questions

How much does a cold email agency cost per month?

Retainer agencies typically charge $1,500 to $10,000 or more a month. Pay-per-meeting agencies charge $100 to $500 per meeting, usually per booked meeting, plus any fixed fees. Hybrid models run $1,500 to $4,000 a month plus a bonus. Outboundwell's total monthly cost is $249 plus $250 per held meeting: $249 in a month with no meetings, $1,249 with 4, $2,749 with 10.

What is the most budget-friendly cold email agency model?

If outbound is not yet proven for your offer, the model with the lowest fixed monthly cost, because most of the risk is a month without meetings. Pay-per-meeting with no retainer is the lowest fixed cost among done-for-you options. Once outbound is proven at high volume, a flat monthly fee can work out cheaper per meeting.

What hidden costs should I ask about?

Sending infrastructure (domains, inboxes, warm-up) billed separately, setup fees, platform licences, minimum terms, and whether a pay-per-meeting fee applies to booked meetings or only to meetings that actually happen. At a 60% show rate, a $500 booked meeting costs about $833 per meeting held.

Is it cheaper to run cold email in-house?

In tools, yes: a lean stack runs $150 to $400 a month. The cost moves to your team's time for list building, copy, deliverability and reply handling, and to the risk of burning domains while learning.
